Mostly, we chafe at being told what to do. I know some people are, by nature, submissive types who have no trouble being under authority. But inherent in who we are, is a rebellious streak, a fierce independence that results in a you-can’t-tell-me-what-to-do determination and this leads to rebellion against God’s Word. The result of this has been devastating.
