Bible Text: Nehemiah 1:1-11 | Patrice Charade
Series: 2023 Single Sermons
When Nehemiah heard of the state in which Jerusalem found itself, he immediately resorted to praying to God. What is our response inclined to be upon hearing bad news? Is it to run and pray to God? The reality is, whether it’s because of bad news, for our daily needs, or simply to spend time talking with God, Christians don’t pray nearly enough. Join us as we are challenged from Nehemiah chapter one to approach God eagerly in prayer.

Christians do not pray enough.
John Piper
Prayer is the open admission that without Christ we can do nothing. And prayer is the turning away from ourselves to God in the confidence that He will provide the help we need. Prayer humbles us as needy and exalts God as wealthy.
John Piper
I will approach God eagerly in prayer when I know… [v. 1-3]
…who he is. [v. 4-6]
…what he has done. [v. 6-10]
…why I still need him. [v. 11]
