JIMMY FULLENWIDER
Young Adults and Family Ministries AssistantJimmy comes from a Christian family and has been attending church since he was born. In August of 2006, his family came to Harvest for the first time with their previous church’s pastor and they have been members of Harvest ever since. At age 7, in Marylyn Shewfelt’s class, Jimmy first heard the gospel and asked Jesus into his heart as Saviour. At age 12, he was baptized. Although living with a firm belief in Christ, it wasn’t until the summer of 2021, after a period of time away from God and the church, that Jimmy would come back and reaffirm his commitment to Christ, standing firm in the desire to follow Jesus and live his life for God. It was through this time away that he would come to take his faith as his own. Through Jordan Coros and Dave Koevoet as mentors, Jimmy would quickly realize the call to ministry God had placed on his life.
Eager to serve, Jimmy began a summer internship at Harvest in 2022. Summer came and went, but he stayed! Now having been blessed with the opportunity to preach, lead and assist with Youth and Young Adult ministries, Jimmy intends to pursue this path in ministry by continuing to gain experience at Harvest while he attends seminary.
One of Jimmy’s favourite verses is 1 Timothy 4:12. This serves as a reminder that his task as a 22 year old is not to prove himself fit for ministry, but to obey God, who alone calls and qualifies. It is by God’s grace he may serve the church. It is by God’s power alone that he may be an instrument in Christ’s hands.
